Fair Trust Art Prize created

A devotee of the arts, Eileen built a formidable collection of works, including paintings by Rita Cook, Olivia Spencer Bower, Karl Maughan, Sydney Lough Thompson, and her second cousins James Boswell, Anne Hamblett, and Colin McCahon.
Eileen’s Will directed her Trustees to continue Eileen’s support of the arts by establishing the Fair Trust Art Prize.
Eileen’s Trustees have partnered with the Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage in Palmerston North to offer the inaugural Fair Trust Art Prize.
The prize is $40,000 to develop a new body of work to be exhibited at Te Manawa. Entry to the inaugural prize is by invitation, to allow Eileen’s Trustees to work with Te Manawa to design an enduring prize that will benefit the arts sector for years to come.
